If elected, I would be delighted to serve as a member at large for the Society for Personality and Social Psychology. I remember the bad old pre-SPSP days when as a postdoc and junior faculty there was no welcoming society for the diverse areas of research that I cared about: the social psychology of close relationships, personality processes in daily life, and statistical methods for studying change.
