After assessing the environment and consulting with stakeholders, SPSP has decided to cancel the in-person Annual Convention in Austin, February 2021.

SPSP will instead hold a completely virtual event in February 2021.

Our top priority is the safety of our staff, attendees, and community. After much consideration, we’ve decided that it is best to be proactive and cancel the 2021 in-person event and transition to a virtual model. This decision did not come easily, but canceling in advance will allow us to plan and execute a virtual event that serves our attendees safely.

With this proactive approach, we’ll be offering all of the same types of programming as usual – sharing your work is our top priority. We’ll also be extending the deadline for program submissions to accommodate the challenging environment we’re all in. Program submissions will be open June 30 – August 4.

We recognize that our Annual Convention isn’t just about the science – it’s also about making connections. That’s why we’ll be offering creative ways to virtually network and socialize with your peers.

SPSP Staff and Volunteers are working hard to make this event a great experience. We appreciate your patience as we work out the details of bringing our virtual convention to fruition.
