In the wake of financial uncertainty for our members, SPSP is proud to have created the Emergency Bridging Grants program. A limited number of grants will be awarded to Graduate students and Early Career members. More grants will be available through the support of our members and the Annual Campaign.

Grants of up to $500 may be requested to cover personal, academic, or professional financial needs. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Housing
  • Computer Equipment
  • Broadband Service
  • Food
  • Research Participant Payment
  • Child or Elder Care

SPSP's President of the board, Rodolfo Mendoza-Denton, leads this initiative to provide emergency relief:

"We are implementing this bridging grant program in recognition of the financial impact that 2020 has wrought, and the impact it has had on early career scholars in particular. If you have a need, please apply. If you can give, please: give what you can. The more funds we can pool, the more scholars we can support. "

The Emergency Bridging Grants are designed to offer members maximum flexibility as we navigate the challenges of this pandemic. If you need financial relief, either to fund the next phase of your research or just to put food on the table, SPSP is here to support you. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2020.

If you are not a Graduate student or Early Career member, please take the time to review all of our available resources and do not hesitate to reach out to SPSP. We are here to support you.
