To help ensure that the training of graduate students sustains advances and innovations in personality and social psychology, for the past decade SPSP has offered a highly successful program, the Summer Institute for Social and Personality Psychology (SISPP).
When it comes to helping patients make the best choices for themselves, sometimes you have to challenge their usual way of dealing with the world.
Many go to social psychology research to explain how the mind works; however, researchers have begun to suggest psychologists shift their emphasis in the direction of prediction.
The first ever meeting of the Society for Improving Psychological Science (SIPS) was radically different from a typical psychology conference. Attendees both learned about new research on how the scientific process can be improved, and worked for three days to try to immediately and tangibly improve psychological science.
Carsten studies the neurobiological and psychological mechanisms underlying cooperation and conflict, group decision-making, and creativity and innovation. He has published over 200 articles in disciplinary journals.
The Foundation for Personality and Social Psychology is now accepting applications for the Heritage Dissertation Research Awards and the SAGE Young Scholar Awards. Submissions will be accepted until October 15 and September 17, respectively.

Submission portals will be open from July 5 - 19, 2016. Submission guides are now available to assist in preparing your submissions.
