The SPSP 2023 Annual Convention will offer two ways to participate, All Access and Virtual Only, and will be held February 23-25 with preconferences on February 22-23. Our volunteer leaders and staff have developed these experiences based on the lessons learned, feedback received from past meeting attendees, and discussions about optimizing the convention experience. Our goal is that all attendees will have the ability to share their research, access to over 2,000 presentations on-demand, and a robust set of tools within the conference platform for engagement in an environment that is safe, inclusive, and accessible.

We recognize the continued struggles our members have faced due to COVID-19. We had to balance many factors when creating this format; including, meeting the primary objectives of meeting attendees, registration rates that are affordable for our student/early career members, the expenses associated with virtual access, and staff/volunteer capacity. This meeting format offers opportunities for us to experiment with new presentation types and enables flexibility for participants to choose a method that works best for their circumstances. We recognize that this will not meet the needs of everyone, but we hope you will continue on this journey of innovation with us.

  • All access: Includes access to all in-person programs being held in Atlanta and all virtual programming. We anticipate approximately 100 sessions to run in person in Atlanta.
  • Virtual only: Virtual offerings include two simultaneous channels of programs live-streamed from Atlanta (approximately 17 sessions). We will also have several virtual preconferences and virtual professional development workshops. For presenters unable to travel to Atlanta, they should submit their presentation for the virtual program which will be available for on-demand viewing.
