Welcome to the New PSPR Editors

On behalf of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, we are excited to announce the incoming senior editorial team for our society’s premiere journal—the Personality and Social Psychology Review. David Sherman and Heejung Kim, the incoming Editors, will be joined by Associate Editors Kentaro Fujita, Richard W. Robins, and Jacquie D. Vorauer. They will begin processing manuscripts on January 1, 2018, with their term ending December 31, 2021. Until then, the current team, led by Editor Monica Biernat will continue doing their outstanding work.

Editors

Heejung Kim (Ph.D. 2001, Stanford University) is Professor at the Department of Psychological and Brain Science, University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research centers on cultural influences on psychological, behavioral, and biological processes. She has been an Associate Editor at Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Journal of Personality and Social Psychology.

David Sherman is Professor in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is a social and health psychologist whose research centers on how people cope with threatening events and information. He has been an associate editor at the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and is the president of the International Society for Self and Identity.

Associate Editors

Kentaro Fujita is currently an associate professor of psychology at The Ohio State University. He received his A.B. summa cum laude in psychology from Harvard College in 2000, and his Ph.D. in psychology from New York University in 2006. His research examines how motivation and cognition interact to impact judgment, decisions, and behavior. Much of his work, funded in part by grants from the National Science and John Templeton Foundations, focuses on self-control failure – decisions and behavior that undermine people’s valued goals. He has previously served as an associate editor for Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.

Richard W. Robins (Ph.D., 1996, UC Berkeley) is Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Davis, and Director of the California Families Project, a 10-year longitudinal study of Mexican-origin youth and their families. His research focuses on the nature and development of personality and its consequences for important life outcomes; self-esteem processes and development, and the regulation and expression of self-conscious emotions. He has been an Associate Editor for the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology: Personality Processes and Individual Differences, and Editor of several books, including the Handbook of Personality: Theory and Research.

Jacquie Vorauer is a Professor of Psychology at the University of Manitoba. She holds a PhD in psychology from the University of Waterloo and received her BA from UBC. She has served as Associate Editor for the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, and Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. She is broadly interested in how concerns with evaluation affect social perception and behavior across a variety of contexts, including romantic relationships, and, most notably, intergroup relations. Her most recent work has focused on how the salience of different intergroup ideologies affects the power dynamics of intergroup exchanges and the (sometimes negative) consequences of being the target of empathy.
