The Society for Personality and Social Psychology has opened nominations for the editorship of its flagship blog, Character and Context. The editor's term is three years, transitioning in early 2019. Candidates for the position should have experience writing for the general public, as well as for colleagues in the field.

Founded in 2014, Character & Context highlights the growing fields of personality and social psychology. It offers researchers the opportunity to communicate directly, in a less formal environment, with both colleagues and the interested public. Some selections garner media attention or are shared with partner organizations and blogs. The blog receives thousands of readers each month.

The editor of the blog receives a stipend and has funds available for editorial assistants. Technical support for production of the blog is provided by SPSP staff. The editor helps to refine the vision for the blog’s content and manages the editorial staff.

Nominations, including self-nominations, should include a CV and statement of one page or less highlighting both experience and vision for the future of the blog. All inquiries or nominations should be submitted to Eli Finkel, [email protected]. Review of nominations will begin Monday, January 7th, 2019.
