As summer rolls on, many SPSP members are considering how they would like to grow and what they would like to achieve before the start of the fall semester. SPSP member Dr. Sa-kiera Hudson has prepared a highly useful resource to guide psychologists through this process – the Summer Goals Writing Worksheet.

Taking a step-by-step approach, the worksheet, available here, helps readers not only set their own goals but examine the intentions behind them. Furthermore, the worksheet encourages readers to be realistic about their time during the summer and maximize how they choose to spend it. Dr. Hudson takes inspiration from tools developed by the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity as well as the Life on Track (LOT) Planner, which she also created.

During a time of year when structure can be hard to find and goals difficult to reach, Dr. Hudson's worksheet helps readers develop a plan to stay productive while taking care of themselves. We thank Dr. Hudson for taking the time to develop this resource and encourage all SPSP members to consider implementing it in their own work.

Dr. Hudson is a Postdoctoral Associate in Yale University's Social Perception and Communication Lab. In the Fall of 2022, she will start as an Assistant Professor at the University of California Berkeley Haas School of Business in the Management of Organizations (MORS) group.
