The SPSP 2024 Annual Convention will offer two ways to participate, All Access and Virtual Only, and will be held February 8–10. Our goal is that all attendees will have the ability to share their research, access to numerous presentations in-person and on-demand, and a robust set of tools within the conference platform for engagement in an environment that is safe, inclusive, and accessible. We are continuing to offer flexibility for participants to choose a method that works best for their circumstances. These two experiences are different and a smaller amount of content will be available virtually.

Many factors are considered when creating the convention format:

  • Meeting the primary objectives of meeting attendees
  • Registration rates that are affordable for our student/early career members
  • Expenses associated with virtual access
  • Staff and volunteer capacity to plan two different meeting options

All-access

(in-person + on demand)In-person attendees will have access to all the sessions presented in San Diego and all virtual programming, available on-demand after the meeting. SPSP's featured sessions will be held in San Diego and we anticipate approximately 100 sessions to run in person. In-person attendees can meet with exhibitors, participate in unique networking opportunities, and interact with presenters and other attendees in an informal setting.

  • Meal & Drink Ticket Options
    • Reduced cost boxed lunch on Friday and/or Saturday (students $10, non-students $25 per lunch) OR
    • 2 Drink Tickets
  • Welcome and closing reception
  • Morning and afternoon beverage breaks on Friday and Saturday

Virtual only

Virtual offerings include two simultaneous channels of programs live-streamed from San Diego (approximately 20 sessions) and on-demand content that is uploaded by presenters. There will be several virtual preconferences as well. For presenters unable to travel to San Diego, they should submit their presentation for the virtual program (research spotlights) which will be available for on-demand viewing. For a full rundown of the virtual programming available during the Annual Convention, visit our Virtual/On-Demand Agenda page.

Preconferences

Some preconferences will be in-person and others will be virtual. In-person preconferences will receive a continental breakfast, boxed lunch, and two beverage breaks.
