About our blog
Character & Context is the blog from the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, the largest organization of social psychologists and personality psychologists in the world.
Character & Context explores the latest findings from research in personality and social psychology. By exploring forces within the person (such as people’s traits, beliefs, attitudes, and goals) as well as forces within the situation (such as social norms, the behaviors of other people, incentives, and the physical setting), personality and social psychologists seek to unravel the mysteries of individual and social life.
The topics examined in Character & Context span the full range of human experience, such as aggression, romantic attraction, prejudice, emotions, morality, persuasion, friendship, helping, conformity, decision-making, and group interaction, to name just a few.
The views and opinions expressed in Character & Context are specifically those of the author and may not represent the views of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, its members, or the Character & Context editors.
